I had a rest day this week on Monday following the Track Mafia: Get Paid event and then went back to training at my running club Bedford & County AC for a speed endurance session of 6 x 800m with 1 minute recovery. My legs still felt fatigued from racing so I wasn’t able to run as fast as I wanted to, but I managed to keep the pace consistent at 2:31 for each of the 800m (give or take 2 seconds).

Wednesday was a hard hill session which absolutely killed my legs, so I had Thursday off. Then on Friday, I (perhaps stupidly) did a long run which was not a good idea since my legs were still feeling sore from the hills and some circuits in the evening.

On Sunday, I had my first track league meet at Reading which didn’t go so well for me. I had hoped to break my 1500m pb, but failed. However, it was the first race of the season and the weather conditions were stark and windy so I’ll try not to let myself get beat down about it. Not a great week for me, but I’ll continue to strive to improve!
